Day 2 7:00am – 4:00pm – TBD snow conditions permitting

This 2 day course is your ticket to winter fun and adventure in the backcountry. It’s perfect for those interested in learning more about backcountry safety, Backcountry ski touring and splitboarding in avalanche terrain, terrain assessment and snowpack evaluation.

Required course equipment:
-Digital 3 antenna transceiver, shovel and probe. *Rentals available.
-Airbags are not mandatory. But please bring a backpack to carry your avi gear.
–Touring Gear Required for this date*** Limited rentals available.

Alpine Skis or Snowboard are not acceptable for this course. (Please look for one of our Silver Star dates)

All courses are different based on your method of transportation. Ski and Board courses are typical held in bounds at Silver Star or Big White, with touring options available. While Sled courses are held in the backcountry usually in a BCSF club.

A three antenna Digital Transceiver, a 270cm probe minimum, and a sturdy collapsable aluminium shovel is the industry standard. Airbags are not mandatory but encouraged. All Sledding and Touring groups going into the backcountry (non ski hill) will be held to this standard.

Cancellations made >14 days prior to course, we are happy to issue a 50% refund. Cancellations made within <14 days of the course start date are non-refundable. If you need to reschedule to a different date please contact us directly and we will do our best to transfer you to the next available course.

Paper copies will be provided in class. All Students are required to fill out and sign a paper copy on day one.
