Avalanche Safety Training Level 1 for backcountry touring. Open to MEC staff, staff friends & family and public.

Saturday Nov. 26  8:30-4:00 – Classroom theory & outdoor rescue technique practice @ MEC Kelowna
Saturday Dec. 3  7:30-late afternoon – Field Day Location TBA

This 2 day course is your ticket to winter fun & adventure in the backcountry.  It’s perfect for those interested in learning more about backcountry safety, sledding in avalanche terrain, terrain assessment and snowpack evaluation.

Required course equipment:
-Digital 3 antenna transceiver (no analog), shovel and probe. *Rentals available.
-Airbags are not mandatory but encouraged.
-Ski touring or splitboard equipment
