AST LEVEL 1 Mechanized

February 22 & February 23

Avalanche Skills Training Level 1 for snowmobilers & snowbikers.

This introductory AST 1 will take place at in Vernon, BC

This 2 day course is your ticket to winter fun & adventure in the backcountry.  It’s perfect for those interested in learning more about backcountry safety, sledding in avalanche terrain, terrain assessment and snowpack evaluation.
Day 1  8:30am-4:00pm – Indoor theory day at Vernon with some outdoor learning for basic rescue techniques.
Day 2  7:30am-5pm – Field day at Hunter’s Range Snowmobile Club

Required course equipment:
-Digital 3 antenna transceiver (no analogs), shovel and probe. *Rentals available.
-Airbags are not mandatory but encouraged.
-Mountain sled or snowbike

Release of Liability Waiver

Please read the Release of Liability Waiver carefully prior to completing registration and Click “Submit”. You can find it in the drop down menu at the top of the page. Paper copies will be provided in class. All Students are required to fill out and sign a paper copy on day one. All participants under the age of 19 will require signature from parent or legal gardian.
